Eclipse’s ancestry can be traced as far back as 1915, although it was first developed by HPA in 2004 and released commercially in 2020. The subsequent generations of cross pollination featured varieties such as Fuggles, Brewer’s Gold, Comet and Pride of Ringwood in the uniquely Australian environment. Eclipse is a dual-purpose hop that can be used in all hop additions throughout the brewing process. When Eclipse is used in the whirlpool and dry hop, it brings an unmistakably sweet mandarin flavour to beer with strong notes of citrus peel and fresh pine needles.
